Let Them Be Little
Why Your Kids Don’t Need to “Behave” for Great Photos
If you’ve ever worried that your kids might cry, get restless, or have a little meltdown during your session — take a deep breath. You’re not alone, and it’s completely okay.
Here’s the truth: kids are supposed to be full of energy. They’re curious, loud, silly, and sometimes unpredictable — and that’s exactly what makes the photos so special.
When we shoot together, I don’t expect perfectly still smiles or everyone standing in a straight line. We’ll play games, run around, have tickle fights, and probably end up laughing way too much. There might be grass stains, windblown hair, and belly laughs — but that’s real life, and that’s what I love capturing most.
If your little one needs a break, we take one. If they want to show me their favorite dance move, we do that too. Some of the sweetest, most genuine photos happen in between the moments parents think are “perfect.”
So please don’t stress if your child isn’t sitting still or smiling on command — I promise, that’s not the goal here.
My approach is relaxed, playful, and connection-focused. If you’re dreaming of overly posed, traditional portraits where everyone’s looking straight at the camera… I might not be the right fit — and that’s okay!
But if you love photos filled with movement, laughter, and personality — the kind that feel like your family — we’re going to have so much fun together.
