TURN ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS INTO DATE NIGHT

a-20.jpg

I have so many couples who absolutely DREAD getting their pictures taken. They know they have to get engagement photos done for their save the dates, but they view it as a task and not necessarily an enjoyable / exciting experience. The fact is that engagement sessions can actually be really fun ( and not every engagement session has to be in a field. )

Here are a few of my favorite engagement session ideas to make these shoots fun for couples and make them more comfortable in front of the camera.

ice cream + the arcade

Jared + Caroline have never had couple photos done before, but they were really excited and fun to work with. They said they wanted to shoot on The Vineyard, so I told them to spend the day there ( to take off the stress of the shoot ) so they spent the day swimming and sight seeing before we got together.

We met up at one of the arcades downtown, played games, had ice cream, and ran around the pier.

sunset / lake sessions

Hannah + Colin also have never been professionally photographed together, but Hannah expressed a lot of interest in my lake sessions, which I think are perfect for engagement sessions because they are fun and super cute.

We had a great time playing around in the water and the pictures came out so pretty!

date night at the fair

Tori + Liam have modeled for me a few times before and they always like trying something new. I thought the fair would be a perfect place for a couple/ engagement sessions just because it’s such a fun, carefree environment. We had an absolute blast and I loved their session and can’t wait to shoot more couples like this!
